As someone who has healed from self-criticism about my body, I want to help you let go of the never-ending quest to change your appearance so you can focus on what truly matters to you.
My obsession with my appearance revolved around the size and shape of my body. Like many women in our society, I believed I had a weight problem, and managing it became my lifelong project. This began when I was 18 and moved to the United States for college. I gained some weight, and when I went back home to Colombia during summer break, my whole family made comments about my body. I felt so ashamed!
This started a long cycle of gaining and losing the same 10 pounds over and over again. I would lose weight in the spring and gain it back in the fall. I would restrict myself in the spring and then indulge in the fall. These 10 pounds were my ever-present problem and occupied so much space in my mind.
I believed that once I figured this out, I would feel happy, confident, and fulfilled. But that was a lie because even when I reached my desired weight several times, I still did not feel happy. It wasn’t until I learned the tools that I want to teach you that I realized how much mental freedom I gained after letting go of trying to “fix” my appearance. I felt so much better and created opportunities I had never considered possible for myself. I discovered my true desires, and I want to help you do the same!
In a world that promotes unrealistic beauty standards, restrictive diets, and warns against women’s pleasure, I want to help you create a compassionate and authentic connection with your body. True happiness comes from understanding and embracing our bodies as they are, inhabiting them with peace, finding joy in everyday experiences, and having a positive self-image.

I worked with Johana in order to get control over my eating again. I felt like I was at a weight above where I wanted to be, but I didn’t know how to get back in control in a way that wouldn’t interrupt my life drastically.
After working with Johana I feel back in control. I learned so much about how the diet mentality was affecting my thoughts, and the value of not being in a rush so that I can make changes that will stay for a lifetime, instead of temporary fixes that get results, but don’t actually last.
I enjoyed the way Johana always brought me back into belief when I didn’t believe it could happen, and how she helped me create an identity shift so that I could leave our sessions knowing I would not go back to being someone who struggled with food.
As a coach, I know how to do a lot of the work that Johana helped me with, but the value of having someone outside of you see you and help you redirect, create a plan that you can stick with, along with the mindset necessary to accomplish it, can not be understated.
Now my relationship with food has completely changed. I am no longer constantly thinking about food, or debating with myself about what or when to eat. I have more freedom to focus on what matters, and I know that I will get to my goal weight because I am living as someone who is already there.
